Marble Magnets!

Look what we made!  They’re so cute!!

Here’s how:

You need clear glue (we used Pritt Craft PVA Glue), 3/4″ or 1″ flat, clear, glass marbles, 3/4″ magnets, scissors, and magazines or books.  Take a marble and go through books and magazines to find cute little pictures that look nice under the marble (mu girls looooved doing this!) and cut them out.  Here I have a magnet (self adhesive but you don’t need it to be), a picture we cut out, and a flat, glass marble.

Put a blob of glue on top of the picture and let your child press the marble on top of it.  Or do it yourself, but this is one of the steps they can actually do themselves.

If you have the self adhesive magnets, I’d suggest you doing that part because if your kid puts it on crooked, you can’t fix it because it’s sticks so quickly.  Now pick up the marble with picture glued on and stick that on top of the adhesive magnet.  If you have regular magnets, put a blob of glue on it and put the marble on top.

Put it on a plate or tray, so you can move them all easily when you’re done, to a place they can dry.

Here are more photos of ours!

I couldn’t find any of the marbles or magnets in the UK.  I had my mom buy them in the US and send them over.  She got the marbles at Hobby Lobby and the magnets at Walmart, and each was about $2 or $3 I think.  There were at least 20 marbles in the pack and 18 magnets.

Let me know if you’re in the UK and you find these marbles or magnets somewhere!  I’d love to be able to get them myself.  I did have my mom send me 20 though, and we only used 8, so we can do this again another time!
